We have had the same problem. After upgrading to new a new server
Had no luck finding the problem yet. But it has nothing to do with checking
mail on that system. It happen random. We were told to disable
Hyper-Threading in the bios. But still the reboots. ???? Ran a mem check and
all is good. Updated the MDAC and SP3 still the same

Subject: [IMail Forum] Server crashing on mail check

Has anyone seen this happening before.. and any suggestions for a cure.

Occasionally, I do a email check from Outlook on my machine and it
hangs, then I notice that the server is in the process of rebooting. It
is looking like IMail is causing this.

Event log on server

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000007f
(0x00000008, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). Microsoft Windows 2000
[v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: C:\WINNT\MEMORY.DMP.
