This is a combination rules question/feature request/possible bug report email.
RULES QUESTIONS =============== We are trying to come up with a rules.ima file for a school that wants to block all incoming emails except for those on an "approved" contacts list specific for each student. Right now we have something that looks like the following for [EMAIL PROTECTED]: F~[EMAIL PROTECTED]:Main F~[EMAIL PROTECTED]:Main F~[EMAIL PROTECTED]:Main F~[EMAIL PROTECTED]:Main F!~[EMAIL PROTECTED]:NUL It sends email from valid1, valid2, valid3, and valid4 into the "Main" folder/mailbox. Everything else is deleted unless the From field contains [EMAIL PROTECTED] (for Drafts and Sent Items). However, this effectively disables the sub-mailbox feature. For example, if [EMAIL PROTECTED] would like to send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED], the email ends up in the Main folder instead of the Science Folder. Yes, we can work around with: F~[EMAIL PROTECTED]!AND!T~Science:Science We would have to do this for every incoming contact (could be hundreds). Otherwise, our contact list could be circumvented. Additionally, this would require user training to create the rule before accepting mail as [EMAIL PROTECTED] >From the archives, the kb, and trial and error, it doesn't look like there is a !PASS! or !BOUNCE! command for incoming rules.ima files (only for outgoing). This would certainly make things easier and our solution more eleganter (sic): F~[EMAIL PROTECTED]:!PASS! F~[EMAIL PROTECTED]:!PASS! F!~[EMAIL PROTECTED]:!BOUNCE! 1) Is there some clever way of doing this or an undocumented script command to do this (while keeping the subfolder creation functionality)? 2) If not, then IPSwitch... this would be a nice feature. POSSIBLE BUG REPORT =================== I have several domains hosted on the server, first.com and second.com. When I save a draft from [EMAIL PROTECTED], the From and Reply-To contain [EMAIL PROTECTED]! It's a minor thing, but with my rules.ima file: F!~[EMAIL PROTECTED]:NUL A saved draft from this account will have a From and Reply-To header with [EMAIL PROTECTED] which will be sent into oblivion. 3) Is this a bug or a configuration error on my part? Couldn't find anything in the KB or archives. But then again, I'm not sure how to search for this particular problem.
