yes, this is a public list,

But I think it is appropriate to contact people off list.

This is a place for people to come to get advice, answers, and come into
contact with others with similiar/same issues.   I think it is up to the
individuals on the list wether or not they want to be contacted privately.
If you don't want to be, that's fine.
