Does anyone know what I should do about this? I got the following message from an ISP:
This message has double bounced and is being returned to you... But more importantly we will not accept any more mail from your domain! This is because of apparent violations of RFC-2821 by your mail server. I said; MAIL FROM: <> Your mail server responded with; Remote host said: 501 bogus mail from Mail from "null reverse path" i.e. "<>" must be allowed to pass! Not doing so breaks a lot of the email protocols and prevents you from knowing if your emails are being delivered or not. "Undeliverable mail" notifications are covered in RFC-2821 see ftp://ftp.isi.edu/in-notes/rfc2821.txt Often a mail server will try to inform you that a message hasn't been sent during a set amount of time because of some sort of delay, this is called a "Delivery Status Notification" or DSN for sort. These are also not getting to you. See RFC-1891 ftp://ftp.isi.edu/in-notes/rfc1891.txt You can not request a receipt that a message has been read called "Message Disposition Notifications" or MDNs. You can not use these because of this problem.
