STATUS
Moving the image directory to an IIS server appears to have resolved
both problems. We opted to install the images into a new virtual host
on an existing IIS server rather than kludge this one up. The
performance gains are so significant that I'm actually glad these errors
prompted me to make the change. Nonetheless, it is disappointing that
this is necessary; introducing additional opportunities for failure. I
hope to see iwebmsg receive some performance enhancements in future
releases.
