Hi y'all. I'm getting MX Connect Fail messages for mail going to
gte.net and verizon.net, which are the same mail server. I'm not
having a problem connecting to any other mail servers. I can ping the
mail server (which resolves to relay.gte.net) and connect through
telnet from my mail server and I can connect to it from my DNS server.
I can do a reverse lookup using my DNS Server...
<nslookup:12.170.46.206.in-addr.arpa/PTR/216.242.16.193>
Non-authoritative answer:
12.170.46.206.in-addr.arpa PTR 900 relay.gte.net
And an MX lookup...
<nslookup:gte.net/MX/216.242.16.193>
Non-authoritative answer:
gte.net MX 393 10 relay.gte.net
So my DNS server seems to be working OK.
So, why won't my mail server connect to it? Clues? The IP address of
my official domain name is correct, 64.139.171.64, and not pointing
to an Internal address.
HELP!
