Have you tried to telnet to the SMTP port on you mail server from a dial-up connection? If you can ping the mail server but not telnet to port 25, most likely the ISP is blocking outbound SMTP.

We are moving the users over to uunet/qwest/aleron dialup numbers. Users can receive email but not send. Just hangs there. ERror displayed is: Account mailserver.florida-wireless.com server:" mailserver.florida-wireless.com" Protocol SMTP Port 25 , secure (ssl) no socket error 10060 error number 0x800CCC0E. Nothing in the KB on that error number. I tried from two different aleron numbers to send email. Same issue. Hangs there and gives that error. I dialed into a different local ISP and can send out fine with outlook express setup as incoming/outgoing servers : mailserver.florida-wireless.com accountname- [EMAIL PROTECTED] checked the requires smtp auth box. settings are use my incoming mailserver settings. I checked the KB. I saw the article about the cicso inspect info. We don't have any of that in ours. I have tried changing every setting one way or another. I checked disable smpt auth reporting and the other one also. I tried using IP numbers instead of the domain names for the mailserver. THere is nothing in any logs as to an error for failure on user/password or anything. I tracert from the dialup machines and finds the mailserver. I did a ping. comes back with proper IP. Dnsstuff shows the right mx records for our domain. I have two IMGATE machines infront of our servers. SEtup is IMGATE--WEbshield--Imail. The logs on the IMGATE and WEbshield show no errors either. The only IPs in our relay for our our IPS given to us by bellsouth. I removed send thru gateways, I unchecked the SSL ability boxes. This domain is hardwired to an IP. NOt a virtual setup is official hostname is florida-wireless.com alias is mailserver.florida-wireless.com I am at a lost. What can be going wrong ? what is setup wrong ?
