Sure it is set up to save copy in the Sent folder in user's preferences.

I modified the rule to move messages to "test" folder instead of deleting them. Sure
enough, outgoing messages started being saved in the "test" folder.

By the way my theory is based on the information I got from this support article:

Do you have the user preferences set up correctly? Are they being deleted
or just never save? In the "Edit My Preferences" drop down menu there is an
option that looks like

Save copy of outgoing mail in "Sent" folder: No [NL]Yes
If you have this sent wrong, then it will not save them.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Rule that helps to shoot yourself in the foot

I have this customer who can't get outgoing messages to be saved in the Sent
folder.

It turns out that this customer created an inbound rule that would delete
messages if they are not addressed TO his address (as opposed to Cc or Bcc)

Apparently Imail treats the act of depositing outgoing mail into Sent folder
as an inbound operation at promptly deletes the message because it sure does
not have his address in the TO line.

Is this a feature of Imail? Are there any plans to redesign this feature?
