That's really strange.  Nevertheless, from your
description it definitely seems that it is only the
"logged-on user" internet settings that are getting
hosed after 72 hours. Everything that runs as a service
(or system account) appears unaffected.

Have you had a chance to perhaps narrow the issue by
logging on as another administrative user when it is
hosed and seeing if connectivity is restored?

Another question: Do the settings get lost logged on as
a Domain Admin, or just logged on as the admin of the
local machine?
