I have some users that want a
copy_all account, so that they can monitor all inbound and outbound email on
their domain.
I have read in the archives
that this is best accomplished by setting up an overall copyall on the mail
server (using the smtp setting for send a copy of all mail to a specific
address). Then the messages I read said that we should filter (on the
mailbox that is getting all the copies) to pull out all mail that has the
specific domain in the header.
I understand how to do all of
that, but am concerned with one issue.
If we set it up so DOMAIN.COM
is going to be forwarded to [EMAIL PROTECTED], then wouldn't email
that one of my tech guys sends to another tech guy saying "Jim at domain.com
messed this up" also get forwarded to the copyall box at domain.com. I
guess the core of my question is whether or not the subject would be considered
part of the message header? I thought it would be, and could result in
messages sent outside of a client's domain that reference the client
to be copied to the client, which given the circumstances would almost
invariably be something that we wouldn't want the client to
see.
Please
advise.
