FWIW for a free packet filter (ACL), at the box, you're welcome to download
and use packet filter: http://www.famhost.com/support/pktfilter.zip looks
pretty straight forward and easy to implement.. has source code (GNU).
btw.. we call the GUI-only jockeys 'appliance operators'  <grin>
