well how come the software can't detect that the person sending the email
isn't a valid user?

and the rtf@mydomain would not be a valid address on the domain.

"No mail relay"?

With that, spammers can only send *to* your users, unless they have the
password of one of your accounts.

>theres gotta be a way to block it, because that means people can spam my

Note that spammers will always be able to send spam *to* your network,
unless either [1] You disable E-mail completely, or [2] You use software to
detect spam.

Going back to your original E-mail, since different people were
interpreting it differently:

> >lets say that i send a mail from [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Is that an address on your mailserver? Are you sending with that return
address to an account on another mailserver? Or are you sending it from
another mailserver to your mailserver?

>and its not a valid email,

What isn't -- the "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"? Or the address you are sending it to?

>it still gets through

Gets through to where?

>if it's posted to a valid user account. how do i correct this?

What do you mean by "posted to a valid user account"?
