I think what he is saying that if the sender domain is local, it should see
if the sender user is valid.

That does sound like a good idea. Although how useful I am not sure.
It IS a good idea (of course we can do this on IMGate) but this minute level of configurability is not how I imagine IMail is designed. nice try though.

btw, one Imail "fix" that I was sure was done and forgotten about is still bad.

If you set IMail SMTP to "Send all mail through (IM)gateway", that hostname or ip overrides all the Windows hosts settings, a real pain in the southside.
