i thought this was only happening to me. We have an ISP config the primary mx for outgoing and secondary mx for incoming. We got complaints when they tried to send to this particular email account. "unknown host" is the errors. We temporary fixed in the hosts files as Sharyn did.
Note that this is a common problem, and is almost always due to DNS issues on the other end (such as MX records that point to IPs rather than hostnames, or ones that use CNAMEs, or lame DNS servers).
I've had to hard-code IPs in the HOSTS file, too, but never due to an IMail problem.
