Teresa, This is a situation that we have found that one must just learn to live with. The simple fact is that iwebmsg just crashes sometimes. There are some that will suggest you must keep the system OS, system page file, user mailboxes and spool all on seperate physical disks and keep those disks constantly defragmented. While this is good advice and will result in a better functioning system, it will not keep iwebmsg from crashing. I do all of the above and my system's iwebmsg still crashes.
It can go a day sometimes without crashing or it can crash every 1/2 hour. I just broke down and scheduled a task in control panel to execute a simple batch file which restarts the iwebmsg service. I set the task to run every 15 minutes. If iwebmsg has not stopped there are no problems in that the service is already running. If it has stopped then it saves me from having to restart it! Here is what the batch file should say: @echo off net start iwebmsg A better solution would be to purchase IPsentry which will constantly monitor the service and restart the second it crashes. Someday I hope that Ipswitch will fix this once and for all. Posts like yours will, hopefully, remind them that the problem still exists and it really should be addressed.
