Thanks to all who responded to my post earlier this week. We are continuing to have processor flatline problems with Imail that Ipswitch is unwilling to assist us with beyond vague recommendations that are not really realistic. When we puchased Imail, we were given the impression by Ipswitch the there were active installations with between 30,000 and 100,000 mailboxes on a single server with no performance degradation. Our mail server has the following key statistics:
- Dell PowerEdge 2650 - 2.0 Ghz Xeon - Raid 1 (2x72GB) - 1GB Ram - 1500 domains - 3700 mailboxes - 100MB max mailbox size - Web messaging Enabled and actively used with KWM Templates - 50,000 SMTPD Connections Daily - 40,000 SMTP Local Deliveries Daily - 12,000 SMTP Senders Remote Daily - 38,000 SMTP Senders Local Daily - 175,000 Pop Logins Daily - 700 Web Logins Daily Given the stats above, I see no outward reason that Imail should be performing so poorly. Our only real conclusion has been that there must be a hardware compatibility issue that is preventing the Imail software from multitasking properly. Ipswitch was unwilling to give hardware recommendations. My question to the list is as follows: Can anyone honestly say that they are using Imail on a single server with at least an 8x multiplier of the stats above. (eg. ,12,000 domains, 30,000 mailboxes, etc.). If so, what hardware are you using? If we can't get this to work, we're going to have no option but to migrate to Stalker's Communigate Pro.
