There have been a lot of issues with the new Dell Servers especially the new Xeons above 2Ghz. It's probably not the nic but the bios. If you are not on the most current version of the bios, Dell support basically says things will not work well if you stress the box. Same problem with the larger servers as well.
We ALWAYS re-flash any new mobo's system bios and any RAID controller's bios with latest versions because they are NEVER current out of the box.
Ted, check the versions of both those and any other flash proms against the mfr's latest.
