I couldn't agree more. I may be wrong but I seem to remember reading that Ipswitch included this option owing to customer requests to assist in debugging problems and that this was the rationale for keeping it (even if moved to the 'Advanced' tab). I cannot imagine a situation where refusing NULL <> senders could help resolve a problem. Even if it did, then what? The mail admin would be inclined to leave this option enabled forever -- and soon become listed in http://www.rfc-ignorant.org/, along with irritating (euphemism) all other mail admins whose MTAs connect to the non-RFC-compliant one. The real problem *has* to be elsewhere, even if temporarily refusing NULL <> senders *seems* to fix it. Ipswitch, please consider removing this option entirely, along with 'relay for local hosts' and 'relay for local users'. They do absolutely no good and can only worsen things, regardless of customer demands. Or, replace them with a single checkbox that reads, 'Un-disable this server to not be unused to relay SPAM' ;) Guy -- Guy Isabel <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
