I have a DNS problem that I was hoping someone could help me with. When I go to DNSreports.com, it says that I am missing the 'Reverse DNS entries for MX records'.
I am on a dedicated server at Interland and have my own installation of imail 8 installed on the server. The 'NS records at parent servers' are at ns1.sj1.northsky.com. They are part of Community Architect (CA) and allow me to offer free websites using subdomains of my website. Now CA usually handles the DNS entries for my site, so I asked them to add the reverse DNS or PTR record, but they said that they could not. They said that 'A reverse lookup from the IP address looks to get the record for the reverse lookup from your IP address. We do not handle that IP address so the lookup would not look to our servers for that information, because of this there is nothing I can do from my end to correct this for you. You need to setup the information for the reverse lookup on your end.' Is that right? So is this something I set up in imail or on my dedicated server (W2K)? Thanks for any help.
