Thanks for your reply.

Imail was installed on a freshly installed Windows 2003.  The system was
clean drives.. Fresh install 2003 and then IMail 8, then HF1 for IMail.

My suspicion is perhaps for the DNS cache.  I have deactivated it to see if
that happens again.  But the DNS server log shows a lot of these entries
coming from this server.

DNS queries are UDP, not TCP.  TCP is reserved for zone transfers.

so no harm done, unless the bogus packets are coming in at DoS rate.

I bet you have w2k dns running on that machine and don't realize it?

Imail should never send a DNS query over TCP.
