Queue processing in 8 is so astronomically improved that a move to 8
alone will have a strongly positive effect.

Spreading your load over as many servers as possible is always a best
practice.

>Any advice or ideas of a good Spam filter for iMail?

Declude Junkmail, a post-submission spam filter, is unparalleled in
its field. With Declude and properly sized mail servers, 175,000
messages/day is totally doable.

While neither IMail nor Declude can perform advanced anti-spam
functions during the message envelope, I see no overriding reason to
introduce another server or platform in your situation, since your
"old server" can handle the current load; however, the addition of
envelope rejection at the MX server, and/or outgoing relay-only
servers, would increase performance significantly for the future.

But what you really need to find out is "what changed" between your
old and new server, which may be DNS, routing, hardware, et al.
