I have been looking in the Spam logs to try and understand why certain messages were identified as spam. We have our mail server inside a anti-virus gateway that runs Norton Anti-virus gateway. Therefore, the messages are received by the gateway and passed to the mail server.

In the line from the log that I placed below the X.X.X.X was the address of the anti-virus gateway. Am I right in assuming that it is checking to see if our av gateway's address is in the blacklist. If that is the case is it really going to be able to tell when a message comes that really is from a blacklisted IP?
