Roger, I reply to you as I believe it is you that made the post below. I don't know if what I will say will help but I had the same issue when I upgraded from 8.1 to 8.2 not only was web mails extremely slow but many of my users were not able to log in or send mail. My log files also went from 20 to 30 mb a day to 3 and 4 gig a day. It took about 5 days to finaly figure out what the issue was.
My problem had to do with the registry set up. I didn't do the orginal install but the person who did managed to set up to many main IP's for the server overwriting one another. It was having major problems. I was told by Ipswitch that the latest upgrade of the product became very particular about the registery being right. They were very helpful and sent me a corrected registry. Not only does the system work better but it is faster than ever. My log files have considerably reduced in size as well. I know this is very frustrating and can cause severe issues when you have clients you have to please. I am getting pretty much fed up with paying thousands to upgrade my Imail, place it on a faster machine and still have serious problems. The above message was sent to me by one of my oldest users today. Ever since I have moved to 7.x and 8.x Imail has been garbage here and I am just so tired of it. The worst is the slow web mail but recently I am getting SMTP service crashing and reloading regularly about every 30 minutes ever since some of the viruses have been hitting my server. I replaced my NIC as Ipswitch suggested with no change at all. Also, me web mail is so slow in these latter versions as to be unusable. I was traveling this last week and trying to use it but loading messages takes all day. I think I may actually return to 5.x where none of these problems existed and things ran lighting fast. Ipswitch never has given me suggestions that make any material improvement in these serious problems. Is any one else in this predicament? I really don't know why I upgraded in the first place, but the SMTP AUTH finally works, but web mail is unusable and SMTP service sucks. After spending thousands to upgrade I have a system that runs essentially slower and much worse than ever, and it has pretty much ruined my email business.
