But  this  isn't  about  modifications  to  SMTP logic. It's about the
non-specific  nature  of  DNS responses to the SMTP client prohibiting
"smarter" interpretation.

This  could  be a lesson about the importance of linking together your
link   monitoring   software   with  your  service  monitoring/control
software, if you chose to take it that far.
