Just curious, what are the consequences of running Standard AV program ?
One is that it can delete entire mailboxes of mail, if you have it scan the user mailboxes.
Another is that it can result in E-mail that mysteriously disappears -- there is often no record of the E-mails that it deletes.
Also, it may provide a false sense of security -- you never know what it will catch and what it will not catch.
If you want to know more consequences, just call up the vendor of your AV program and ask them. I'm sure their salespeople will be able to come up with even more reasons (as they'll typically make a commission on a $5,000 or $10,000 product if they can convince you to switch from the $50 product).
