That's
very strange, because I have the exact opposite problem. Webmail is fine,
but any user that tries to connect via IMAP has very slow performance. It
was so bad that we never got out of the testing phase for IMAP and just disabled
the service. Of course, this was with 7.1x, so I don't know if it is any
better now on 8.
We do
have many people on webmail with over 500MB of mailbox space and multiple
folders. They have reported no problems. My Imail
install and spool are on separate drives.
