I got this suggestion a long time ago also. I didn't bother to implement the suggested pagefile setting since at the time my %RAM usage was low also and this made no sense. The problem actually turned out to be the infamous Webmail buffer overflow in the end (which was fixed in 7.xx).
It could be that the problem children are dual processors and Gig ethernet cards. There could be a software issue that's more likely to be exposed on high performance hardware.
