Our server ran out of HDD space last night (someone backed our SQL Server up to this
server instead of the backup server). I had to restore one users (mine) mailboxes
from a backup that was about 24 hours old. I shut down and restarted the server.
This all happened about 2:00 AM. There were no outgoing messages in the queue.

I now have the problem that I cannot email from any client using SMTP. We have No
Mail Relay set and require the very few users that use Outlook and such to send mail
using SMTP AUTH. My log files are showing an invalid user err when I try to send mail
via SMTP.

I have two domain that I am trying to send through. One uses NT auth and the other
uses imail auth. The user name and passwords are able to be verified and allows me to
connect to the mail accounts via IMAP.

Can any one tell me whether there might be coruption in the SMPT auth module
(registry?) and how I can rebuild this?

Thanks
