We’re setting up some of our employees to have internal mail only. So they cannot send or receive from outside our building.
I figured the easiest way to set this up on the IMail 7.1 server would be to create a virtual host in order to use the outbound rules capabilities. Created a separate IP for this virtual host internal.domain.com.
It’s a simple rule: If TO address does not contain @ourdomain.com, then Delete. Added a couple more domains we have, but that’s the only rule.
When you’re setting up the e-mail account on an OE or Outlook client (IMAP), and you input the server IP for the virtual host everything works fine. However if you put in the main IP for the mail server, the user is able to bypass any rules, and send to whatever domain they so choose. We don’t have a bunch of geniuses here, but is there any other way to lock this down a little bit?
