I have seen it happen before, and I want to assume it would be some
antivirus software not liking a macro in the file of some sort. We do
not use declude, but we use Imail AV.

Neither Declude JunkMail nor Declude Virus will alter any attachments,
nor 
will IMail (as far as I know).  Given that it is only a problem in Word 
format and not .ZIP, I would suggest looking to see if you have a
firewall 
that may be interfering.
