Had a dial up user sending a .doc to us and was having EXACTLY the same problem WRT opening the .doc. It was 5 pages and pretty large with some graphics -- he was sending straight from his machine to our IMail server, no other servers between us. He tried to send it twice and it failed both times. He disconnected, dialed back up to his local POP and snet again -- worked fine. Said he was only seeing a 21400 connect the first time he was dialed in but showed 46000 when he reconnected. I think IMail itself doesn't like poor connections and may corrupt a file that has too many packets retransmitted. I am constantly cleaning the webmail spool of half-done image/doc/pdf files where users continue to try until it goes through. Like this for example: photo1.jpg 7638 photo1(1).jpg 8164 photo1(2).jpg 9174 ... photo1(12).jpg 42965 with the last "version" actually being a complete image. You said that the doc comes through fine if sent from AOL or Yahoo accounts -- well, it still has to pass through your firewall if sent in to you from those accounts. It only fails coming from one place. That sort of points away from YOUR firewall as the culprit. G -- Gerald V.
