I just opened a case with Ipswitch about this problem, but I thought I'd share with the group in case anyone had seen this problem before.
I had a user complain about getting a "not local user, not a gateway" error when trying to send to a Hotmail address. I verified that he was AUTHing and had him test while I watched the logs with Wintail. I see that he gets the following line in the logfile: SMTPD (0B0600A0) [68.210.214.31] ERR mail.taisweb.net invalid user <[EMAIL PROTECTED] Note that the final '>' is missing. A similar issue came up yesterday. So I searched my log for today (at ~1:20PM) and came up with almost 6000 instances of this line and in EVERY CASE, there was no final '>'. Does anyone know what could cause this? Does anyone have a solution or an idea?
