I have a user who connects to the Internet through AOL and sends mail through our server. Lately (past week or so) he's been having problems sending (but not receiving e-mail). When ever he tries to send, Outlook Express gives him the following error message:
The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail was (hidden) Subject test account: mail.kalnet.net server: mail.kalnet.net protocol SMPT server response 550 5.7.1 (hidded)... relaying denied IP Namelookup failed (172.154.2.78) port: 25 Secure (ssl): no, server error 550, error no: 0x800ccc79.
This is an AOL error -- they usually (always?) intercept SMTP connections and route them through their own mailservers.
They need to either use AOL's mailserver, switch to an Internet provider, or you need to set them up with an alternate communication method (such as using a firewall or special mapping program to open port 26 on your IMail server to allow them to use an alternate port).
