Whenever my IMail server ends up getting a message rejected for delivery, it always puts "Unknown user: [EMAIL PROTECTED]" in the bounce message. Is there anyway to get IMail to post the server response (550 - user does not exist, etc.) in the bounce message? This would save a lot of time in responding to customer questions, not having to dig through mulitple meg log files.
Not that I'm aware of. We've been thinking of writing something to include the reason for the bounce, as this is something that would be extremely useful.
Note that our free BounceFinder program (at http://www.declude.com/tools ) was designed for the purpose of tracking down the bounce messages in those huge log files. :)
