The AD users will automatically have accounts accessible with their AD
password. There is no need to touch IMail unless you need to tweak
user settings such as Reply-To:, etc.

Makes no diff to IMail, which treats AD in the same fashion as it
treats the NT SAM--that is, it is simply a security accounts manager,
and the DNS- and LDAP-integrated features of AD are not consulted.

Technically, you can host as many IMail hosts as you want using AD
integration, with the caveat that they will all share the same address
space in AD, so there can't be any duplicate usernames. This is
usually interpreted as a hard limit of one IMail host, and it's
probably best to think of it as such, but in practice we have put in a
few installations that run multiple IMail hosts against the same AD
domain.

You can host as many IMail (Registry) or ODBC userbases as you want
alongside the NT/AD userbase. Using NT/AD integration for one or more
virtual hosts doesn't impact the overall hosting capabilities of the
server.

100% chance.

As Serge mentioned, you can add another MX record at any time to make
sure that all servers have both records available to them when you
switch the accessible IP.
