Hmmm....guess we should consider ourselves lucky that we didn't experience any problems with the same equipment.

In fact, there were quite a few. Certainly not a majority, but we had a good long discussion about it a few years back and found that even disabling it in Windows was not good enough. We had to disable it in the bios. But no matter what network problem you have, Ipswitch will tell you to try putting a 3com NIC in the box because that's what they pefer. Some others did some more indepth diagnostics than I did. But since we HAD to get the server working ASAP and since Ipswitch was telling me to change the NIC, I didn't have time to argue with them at the expense of my mail service.
