Hello, I am having a problem with LDAP queries. I am not very
familiar with LDAP processes, so I may stumble through this: I am running Imail 7.15 on an HP TC2120 Server, with 1.5Gb
RAM, P4 2.6Ghz, HP Gbit NIC. The only other application running on this server
is Mcafee’s Webshield SMTP. On a separate server I am running Mailfrontier Anti-Spam
Gateway (ASG) for SPAM control. The ASG queries the LDAP on the Imail server to
validate the mail users. I run a query using Softerra’s LDAP browser in
order to discover the root LDAP folder. When I run the query, I receive the
list of users that the LDAP browser returns, but underneath each user’s
folder, is the whole user directory again, if I open a user in the underlying
directory, it lists all the users again! And it continues in this manner for
several ‘layers’. So when a user logs in to their ‘junk box’
to check what messages were blocked, they all end up logged in as the first
user that the LDAP discovered (even if they log in with their user
credentials). As I mentioned above, I am not familiar with LDAP so I am
not sure if I am querying correctly. But, the Softerra’s configuration
is straightforward asking only for the Imail IP address and the port (I use the
default 389). I do not use anonymous bind, I log in with my username (I have
admin right to the Imail server), and it finds the users, again with the
effects I described above. Thanks in advance for any help on this matter. Raul Mavis MIS Manager City of (520) 285-5663 |
