After being a member of this list for a few weeks, I've been feeling a little discouraged reading about all the problems I could face when I take this baby live. (version 8.05)
I believe that almost all the issues that have been brought up were regarding v8.1, which was released less than a week ago, and is essentially in the beta stage. The most critical issue (SMTP crashing with nested IMAP folders) has been fixed in a hotfix already.
Overall , do you think Imail is a good choice? I spent two years making my case for this.
I wouldn't be concerned about this. Historically, new IMail releases have had a number of issues that needed to be worked out, and by about vX.05 or so they do. So I would say definitely go with IMail v8.05, or wait a month or two and then go with IMail v8.1.
