Even if comparing virtual world vs. real life is not possible in any case: I consider traffic speed limits as very important. Even if any civilized country has speed limits there is people around breaking this speed limits regulary. But they know that the're doing something illegal. If the police is able to catch someone breaking the speed limits this guy has to pay for it. An OPT-OUT rule is nothing else then legalizing spammers! And so instead of becoming a "volunteer at an Aids hospice" they can say that the're doing nothing illegal. In reality the're destroing "email" and at the latest if 90% of all incomming messages are useless trash several people will stopp using the own mailbox. Spammers don't want understand this because they are making big money. Politicans can't understand it because they are not smart enough (regarding the virtual world) ore because they become something from the spammers cake.
