This is what I have been trying to get to work. I have been told it can be
done but have not been able to verify that it is working yet. I am using
2003 server and it appears all you have to do is create the domain name and
then set it up to forward to your IMail server.

I hope to find a way to verify this works myself, but no luck yet.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Backup Server/Forward server

Question....

Can MS SMTP/Pop server on 2000 be setup to act as a holder for all email
sent to it (multiple domains), till the primary Imail server comes back
online?

Idea being, all mail gets router to the MS box, then forwarded to Imail
without any account checking.
So it plays as a middle man, and holds on to email if the Imail server
(remote box) is unreachable
Then when Imail comes on, if the mail cant be delivered, it bounces it.

Would this work?
Can a wildcard setting like this be done?!

Thanks
