We use sorbs and it is quite effictive. However a good majority of my white listings are generated by Sorbs blocks. If you do not have the ability to white list blocked addrsses efficiently it would be advisable to find some different lists to use. There are several out there that do a fine job. cbl.abuseat.org, njabl.org and dsbl.org are well maintained.
The WebMail in general responses very slow. I heard, that the switched on SSL might be the reason. Is that true?
SSL will slow down the web service because of the added processing required.
My last question is not really a tekkie-question: yahoo is blocked by almost all services like SORBS. Unfortunately, a lot of people are using yahoo as their primary mail provider. This includes also our dear friends from the spam fraction ;-)
- If i block yahoo, or partial, local domains of yahoo, i have to forward to many false positives. - If i let pass yahoo mails (means switch of sorbs), tons of spam will pass also. In this case the phrase filters will have more works to do...
How do you handle this situation?
We use postfix with dnsbl's along with a custom designed body filtering system in front of our Imail box. Imail really does not have all of the tools needed to support a spam filtering solution quite yet IMO.
