I disagree completely with that assessment. While using a system that truely weighted the mail like Declude does is certainly a "better" solution I think that with the proper tweaks IMail's "free" system is quite effective.

The system I am describing is free from a software standpoint and is much more efficient than Imail in handling the filtering, white listing, etc. I'm not touting it as the only way to go by any means, just offering up how we do things in my little corner of the internet. I truly belive that Ipswitch has a bit more work to do in regards to filtering.


Postfix beat Imail to the punch a few years back. If Imail had the tools back then I may not even know that Postfix existed today. A lot of things depend on the load, number of domains/users etc. We choose to let Imail handle the Pop and Web aspects and keep it tucked in behind the front line boxes doing the brunt of the work. Works very well for us ;)
