You could add some javascript into the webmail system to not allow entering "nobody" as an alias.

I totally did use incorrect terminology... falsely using "bounce" for what should be "reject" which are obviously two different things. We definitely do NOT intentionally BOUNCE spam; we reject messages destined for non-existing accounts, without ever receiving the messages. In this case, we were inadvertently bouncing the spam because of the GD nobody alias pointing to a non-existing account. I need a way to disable nobody aliases, to prevent them from even being created! Scott and I came to the same answer at the same time -- I had just finished mapping it out here when I read his message. It was a convoluted message path, to be sure, but not indescribable. Thank you to everyone. For unknown recipients, REJECT after RCPT TO is the correct action. I hope Imail, in all its recent complexity + innumerables add-ons, still knows how to do this most simple but extremely important task. >re you suggesting that we no longer tell people when they've sent to an >invalid account on our system? you don't tell them anything. RCPT TO:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 5xx >Is it even POSSIBLE to turn this >functionality off in iMail?? there so much crap added in to Imail, it's hard to say for sure what piece is doing what action. >If so, things have gotten much worse than I >could have ever anticipated. Not bouncing messages to accounts that don't >exist would create an unbelievable amount of trouble.... wouldn't it? I'm not sure you konw the difference between bounce and reject (or you would have used the word reject) Len _____________________________________________________________________ http://IMGate.MEIway.com : free anti-spam gateway, runs on 1000's of sites To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
