> I'm not sure what "not integrated into the IMail stream" might mean
It means that SpamAssassin (.PL) is utterly blind to the IMail SMTP32/QUEUEMGR delivery mechanism, unlike Declude, which is purpose-built to integrate with IMail. SPAMD is similarly blind to the same requirements, while SPAMC32 is purpose-built to integrate SPAMD with Declude, and thus in turn with IMail. With Declude, you get, of course, its weighting system, per-user filtering--and everything else in the Declude manual--and SPAMC32 allows you to flexibly manage SPAMD weights within Declude, including skip-if weights, file sizes, and multiple SPAMD weight ranges. > Obviously, the spamc/spamd pair and multi threading will be > necessary. Why the hell else lock the Q files (keeps them out of Q > manager's hair)? So you're going to write a custom delivery application. This may seem fun to you, but considering that it's already done to a T with Declude and SPAMC32, I think it's a waste of time. (Yes, FTR, multiple delivery application PIDs will run against multiple SPAMD threads.) > I'd love to hear what I've overlooked. In order to have _only_ this test result returned from SPAMD, you would have to set up a separate instance of SPAMD with a single rule. If you also wanted to use the rest of SpamAssassin's abundant features, you'd need to set up another SPAMD instance. SPAMC32 could readily poke both of these instances from within Declude. --Sandy ------------------------------------ Sanford Whiteman, Chief Technologist Broadleaf Systems, a division of Cypress Integrated Systems, Inc. e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] SpamAssassin plugs into Declude! http://www.mailmage.com/products/software/freeutils/SPAMC32/download/release/ Defuse Dictionary Attacks: Turn Exchange or IMail mailboxes into IMail Aliases! http://www.mailmage.com/products/software/freeutils/exchange2aliases/download/release/ http://www.mailmage.com/products/software/freeutils/ldap2aliases/download/release/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
