while simultaneously knowing that there won't be any. Also, the strong impression was made that the collaboration stuff would be an add-on.
Not just a "strong impression". Jill stated it as fact when you look at her emails in their entirety and she implied it again as recently as 10 days prior to the earthquake announcement of this past Monday. Little did we know that soon meant just 10 days.

<snip> 2 - Will we have group calendaring anytime soon (view other calendars and perform free/busy searches)? We are very close to a solution in this area. Please watch this forum and our website for more information. Because of previous delays, we do not want to pre-announce anything and mis-set expectations. As soon as we can share the information, we will. <snip> ------------ And before that: ------------ From: Jill Jones [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, April 28, 2004 9:45 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: 'Caitlin Hoag' Subject: [IMail Forum] ANNOUNCEMENT FROM IPSWITCH - Update on 8.11

Now for the bad news, many of you are aware that we planned on shipping our
new collaboration add on tool, yesterdy, April 27th. Because we are
unwilling to ship a product that is not up to our quality standards, we are
delaying the release. We are doing our best to have it out in late
May/early June.

So in summary, Jill said that collaboration would be an add on tool back in April that got pushed to June due to technical issues. Then, in the middle of October, they said they were close to having this piece available only to then pull the rug out from under everyone just over a week later. Classic Bait-n-(ip)switch.
IMHO.
