Title: Remote SMTP user cannot authenticate
Another thing you could do is have the remote customer use his ISP's SMTP server for outbound maintaining their return address (if they allow it, earthlink doesn't) and your server for inbound

Subject: [IMail Forum] Remote SMTP user cannot authenticate

I mail my mail server to relay for local IP addresses only.  However, I have a laptop user who authenicates SMTP remotely.  Suddenly it won't connect.  The message Outlook returns is cannot find SMTP server, but he can receive messages fine.  Any idea where to begin?  Our firewall is setup correctly, is this some kind of timeout issue?
