Question... can't you set Outlook so that it does NOT download the attachment? And isn't there other IMAP clients where this can be controlled? If so, then you could read the "body" of each message, and grab the attachment when you need/want it. I've not used IMAP, so please forgive me if that's a stupid question... but it just seems to me that this would almost be a prerequisite for a good mail client. I know I've seen a setting in Outlook to only get attachments below a certain size... can't remember exactly where... but does that only apply to POP3 traffic?
