Exactly,  which is why an AUTH and/or TLS required port directly to your
outgoing  MTA  is the preferred method of allowing outside users to send
e-mail.

It  also  means  you'll  have the connection logs recording the delivery
instead  of  having  to plead with your ISP to get them. There's lots of
reasons  to prefer using your own servers but if all else fails relaying
via their ISP is a method for outside users to send e-mail.
