In MS DNS we appear to have a pointer record for our web servers but when I do a lookup on them it says that we don't. Obviously we're missing something here and would appreciate your help.
MS DNS is *HORRIBLE* when it comes to reverse DNS entries. It says it has the reverse DNS entries, even when it does not. It also makes it seem as though they are magically there, without explaining how reverse DNS lookups work (meaning that your Internet provider needs to do something on their end).
The best bet is to enter your IP in the Reverse DNS Lookup tool at http://www.DNSstuff.com . It will let you know if reverse DNS lookups are getting to your DNS server, and whether or not your DNS server is really responding with reverse DNS entries.
