We're testing fprot with MxGuard since it appears to be a lot less overhead on our server. My concern is that it doesn't seem to catch as many viruses as Clam. Can anyone confirm this?
F-Prot appears to get and out of memory a bit faster (probably due to the cygwin layer required by Clam) but it does not catch some of the stuff that Clam does.
ClamAV on the other hand, is an actively supported opensource program. You can't go wrong with it. Just make sure you have the latest version installed and exclude the appropriate directories from any real-time scanner you might have on the mail server.
The latest version of ClamAV for Windows v0.80-12 (14-Dec-2004) and can be downloaded at the following URL: http://www.sosdg.org/clamav-win32/
